The Interact Club is off for the summer.  

 

Makeups

    No makeups were reported today. 

    Rotarians can now make up on line. Check out www.rotaryeclubone.org , allow yourself 30 minutes to complete the makeup and make sure you print off a receipt of having completed your on line makeup.  Please hand  your receipt to Carole Sharoff in order for the attendance records to be adjusted.

 

Birthdays and Anniversaries

 

 Roger Armstong celebrated his birthday today.  Maggie and Joe Rosa are celebrating 38 "wonderful" years of marriage.  Mike Sarraf is celebrating his 2nd "wonderful' year of marriage.  David and Danny Stotzer are celebrating 5 "wonderful' years, as is  Jim Cooke  celebrating 5 "wonderful" years.  Don Sudbay is celebrating 13 "wonderful" years, and lastly, George and Daphne Roark are celebrating 42 "wonderful" years of marriage.   Howard Frisch is celebrating his 29th  year in Gloucester.     

 

Vacations

 

John Rando vacationed at Massachusetts General for a week.  Don Sudbay Jr. vacationed in North Carolina.  Leo Bergeron went to North Attleboro, and Kim Spanner went somewhere.  Carol Sharoff went to Portland, Maine,  and Dave Marsh also visited Maine, along with Mike Costello. 

 

Happy Thoughts

 

David Stotzer purchased a Sudbay Motors car.  Don Sudbay paid the fine.  David Slade was happy to have one of his daughters and a grandchild visiting.  Mike Linquata was happy  the WW2 time capsule ceremony went well.  Mike was also happy that the second group of Memorial Bricks sold out.  John Rando was happy to be back to Rotary.  Julie LaFontaine was happy to have received donated bottled water for the Cape Ann Food Pantry.  John Dugger was happy to have beat the hurricane back home to Gloucester last week.  Mike Sarrof was happy his brother is celebrating his 60th birthday.  Greg Bover was happy about the Red Sox. 

 

 

Fines

 President Ruth gave out photo fines to George Roark, Josh Arnold, and Steve Kaity.  Dave Stotzer was fined for violating the city water ban.  Meredith Fine was fined for not coming to the Pancake Breakfast.  Jim Marr was fined for not brewing any decaffeinated coffee for the Pancake Breakfast.  Rotarians who were not wearing a pink had today paid a fine. (President Ruth was the only one with a pink hat on.)

 

 

Club News

 President Ruth inducted our  newest member, Thomas Dexter, today.  Please take an opportunity to welcome Thomas to our club. 

 

 

Here’s Lunch for the next several weeks:

 

September 8     Fishcakes and Beans, cold slaw and salad.  Dessert is fresh fruit with topping   (meeting at Maritime Heritage Museum)

 

September 15   Spaghetti and sauce and meatballs, salad.  Dessert is spumoni.

September 22   Beef stew with salad and bread.  Apple crisp with whipped cream for dessert.

September 29  Chicken Dijon with spinach, rice, salad.  Dessert will be blueberry cobbler with whipped cream.

Winners and Losers:   Jim Cook gave his classification speech today. Joe Ciolino won the $10.00.   No one  won the flowers, and no winners in the card raffle today.

 

Speaker today: President Ruth conducted a business meeting today.  Fred Bishop from the Saint Vincent DePaul Society thanked the club for a check presented to him by President Ruth.
